Aisha Malik
Undergraduate Student
Aisha Malik was born and raised in the sunny state of Arizona. Currently, she’s a 2nd-year student at the University of California, Irvine majoring in Public Health Sciences, where she combines her passion for medicine with social justice advocacy. In the lab, Aisha is assisting with a project focused on how early-life adversity and early-life exercise impact adult hippocampal memory. Within this study, she investigates whether there are sex-dependent and estrus cycle-dependent differences that influence neuronal function and hippocampal memory. When she’s not on campus, you can find her spending time at the beach, trying new boba places, or editing self-recorded videos. In the future, Aisha aspires to be a physician working in underserved communities.
